1. The use of alcohol, tobacco/vaping, or any other mood-altering substances is strictly prohibited. All medications must be prescribed and taken as prescribed and are to be kept in the medication room.
  2. Physical violence, horseplay, intimidation, threats, and abusive/inappropriate/foul language is unacceptable.
  3. Any resident who does not return from a pass will be discharged unless prior approval has been given to return later. Curfew is 10:00pm.
  4. Attendance at all MacKay Manor programming is mandatory. You are to be in the designated meeting room/dining room, 5 minutes before each group/meal starts. Programming is added from time to time to enhance resident’s recovery and stay. You will be expected to participate in added programming.
  5. Residents are responsible for doing their personal laundry and bed linen (on-site). Bed linen must be laundered at least once per week. There may be times that specific days are assigned to each floor when the number of residents is higher.
  6. All residents are to be up, have beds made, rooms tidied, attend breakfast (see mealtimes), and have chores completed and in the living room by (5 minutes to) 8:00am during the week and by (5 minutes to) 9:00 am on weekends.
  7. Mealtimes are as follows:

BREAKFAST – 7:00am weekdays; 8:00am Saturday and Sunday
LUNCH – 12:00pm every day
SUPPER – 5:00pm every day
SNACK – 8:30-9:30pm every day

*Please be in the dining room no later than 5 minutes before mealtimes. MacKay Manor makes every effort to provide wholesome, nutritional meals; however, there will be no arrangements to provide for special dietary requests.

  1. Residents are required to inform the night support staff when they are retiring for the night. Failure to do so will result in a check of the resident’s room at the end of the evening shift.
  2. Residents must be in bed with lights out as scheduled below:

Sunday to Thursday: 11:30pm
Friday and Saturday: 1:00am

  1. Residents are required to complete all house chores assigned to them. The chores-list and descriptions are listed on the front board. Chore check begins at 8:00am in the main-floor living room.
  2. No gambling, betting or lottery purchases are permitted.
  3. Residents are not permitted to lend or borrow money from each other.
  4. All residents must attend a minimum of four (4) 12-Step (AA/NA) or non-12-Step (Celebrate Recovery, Smart Recovery, etc.) meetings a week and sign the meeting logbook upon returning from the meeting or no later than 11:00pm at on the day of the meeting. The 4 required meetings are NOT required until the initial 2-week in-house period is over.
  5. Personal radios are to be operated at a reasonable volume level during the daytime/evening hours and turned off by 11:30pm. Headphones, cell phones and/or any devices that can connect to Wi-Fi (i.e., iPod, etc.) are strictly prohibited. When in doubt, check with staff.
  6. Residents are not permitted to be in each other’s rooms.
  7. Televisions are available for resident’s use as follows:

Monday to Thursday 6:00pm to 11:30pm
Friday 6:00pm to 1:00am & Saturday 2:00pm to 01:00am
Sunday and (Holiday Mondays) 2:00pm to 11:30pm

  1. Snacks (provided by staff) are permitted in the TV rooms ONLY on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Any food at any other time must be eaten in the dining room. No food is permitted in resident’s rooms.
  2. Residents are not permitted in the main kitchen area, which includes the fridge, stove, microwave EXCEPT those who are assigned kitchen duties. Residents can use the microwave in the kitchenette.
  3. Residents must always be fully dressed; no tank tops, muscle shirts or cut off t-shirts are to be worn in the house. Pajamas and bathrobes can be worn from the bathroom to the bedroom. Hats are not to be worn within the building. Footwear must be worn at all times. Residents working in the kitchen are to wear fully enclosed shoes/running shoes with socks. Clothing, duffle bags, etc., with substance related/inappropriate logos are NOT permitted.
  4. Residents are not permitted to lay on couches/chairs or put their feet up on the furniture/tables this is to ensure that everyone has a place to sit and to prevent unnecessary wear and tear on the furniture.
  5. Resident are not permitted to go to bars/clubs. Establishments that serve alcohol (restaurants, coffee shops, etc.) should be discussed with staff ahead of time.
  6. All residents must enter and leave through the main door. Nametags should be placed in the appropriate holding spot, In or Out, when residents leave and enter the building. Tags need to be placed in the Out position even if resident is in the yard.
  7. Absolutely no energy drinks/products are permitted at MacKay Manor.
  8. Medication Schedule: (Morning, Lunch, Dinner, Bedtime)

Morning meds need to be taken between 7.00am-7.30am – failure to do this will result in waiting until after morning group.
*Weekends and Holidays* (Saturday & Sunday)- 8:00am- 8:30am
Lunch meds need to be taken between 11:30am – 11:45am – failure to do this will result in waiting until 1:00pm
Dinnertime meds need to be taken between 4:30pm – 4:45pm – failure to do this will result in waiting until 6:00pm
Bedtime meds need to be taken by 10:45pm

  1. Residents are not permitted a vehicle while they are a resident of MacKay Manor.
  2. Phone calls –Monday to Friday the payphone use is limited to 6.00pm-10:00pm. On weekends times are 1.00pm-10.00pm.

Other appointments which need to be followed up by telephone must be approved by staff before using payphone outside the above set times listed.

  1. No protein powder or supplements to be used at Mackay Manor. Bottled and carbonated water can be kept in rooms.
  2. No colognes can be used by residents while residing at Mackay Manor.
  3. Residents are not allowed to make appointments to have any tattoos and piercing competed while they are a resident at MacKay Manor.

Residents can consult staff with concerns or for clarification of the house rules, or expectations of resident’s behavior while at MacKay Manor.
